Every time you practice, you need to tune your ukulele.

The best way to tune is by ear. That means that you listen to a note, and turn your tuning pegs until your string plays the same note.

If you are having a problem getting your tuner to work and you have an iPad or iPhone at home, you can download a free tuner app. One that I like is called insTuner Lite. It acts the same way as your tuner would. Just adjust your tuning pegs until the screen shows that you are playing the correct note.
